On the Smeralda Coast of Sardinia, Porto Cervo is compared to Saint Tropez. In plain English: the sea, beautiful, the yachts, superb, the village, charming, the luxury shops, numerous, the luxury hotels, starting with the Hyatt Group’s 7Pines, and of course, the sunshine. In the same location, Lamborghini set up its pop-up showroom that comes back every year and where two of its latest models are on display: the Revuelto, the first supersport HPEV hybrid with its new V12 engine combined with three high-density electric motors and a revolutionary dual-clutch electronic cross-gearbox for an overall power of 1,015 hp (0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 s and 350 km/h), as well as the latest variant of the famous Huracán, the Sterrato, here in a special edition that is entirely hand-painted (Opera Unica: 70 hours of work!) and from the “Ad Personam” personalization program.
With the Ad Personam program, you can customize “your own” car starting with the basic model. Getting there from here wasn’t easy. With the 80 basic colors for the body (you can also choose “your own” color), with shades of white, grey, black, blue, green, gold…, with rims, brake calipers, mirrors, exhausts, additional lights, and all the details… before tackling the interior with just as many questions about seats, fabrics, carbon, console, door panels, seat belts: two or four points? Black? Yellow, blue, green? Suffice to say that three hours later, we had not finished our selection and the price was skyrocketing.
On the roads of Sardinia
We had four Huracáns for these extraordinary tests. In order of price, we started with the Huracán Tecnica (€211,949), then moved on to the Sterrato (€242,259), the EVO Spyder (€277,543), and finally the coveted STO in its combat model (€377,575). With the Urus Performante opening the road (€299,228), it made a nice convoy priced at more than 1.4 million euros! Driving each of these marvels provides endless pleasure.
All of them are equipped with the famous V10, with different layouts and equivalent powers although they may vary from one model to the next. The Tecnica, for example, has 640 hp for 1,379 kg (565 Nm at 6,500 rpm, 0-100 km/h in 3.2 s), while the Sterrato, with the same engine, in its basic version (610 hp) touts performances at 100 in 3.4 s (just 260 km/h!). The EVO Spyder, a convertible, reaches the 640 hp once again (0 to 100 in 3.1 s, 325 km/h), with a driving experience that is different when you can see the spectacle around you once its roof opens and you feel the air pouring into the car. Finishing with the sexy STO, while it is made for the race course, with its wide rear wing, it is still very comfortable on the asphalt and takes the excitement up a notch. In Sport mode, the 640 hp (0 to 100 in 3 s, 310 km/h) already emit an extreme sound, so let’s not even mention Corsa mode. The only downside, Sardinia’s speed limits are capped at 50 km/h!
